If you are to make a good start to Year 12 you need to ensure that you use your holiday time to read the texts that you will study.

It may be helpful to set yourself a time in which you regularly read.

Also, you may find it useful to record simple notes by hand or word-processed about:-

• What happens – the plot
• Who is in the story – the characters
• When / where the story takes place – setting
• You should try to do this after each chapter or section of the novel.
• Also, record your impressions such as you feel: intrigued, puzzled and confused or whatever about the texts.
