Key Stage 4
In Year 9 you will be given a year’s experience of both GCSE Business and GCSE Economics. Four sections are taken from across both specifications.
- Section 1: Market Research (Part 1.2 from the GCSE Business specification)
- Section 2: Demand, Supply and Price (Parts 2.2 – 2.4 from the GCSE Economics specification)
- Section 3: The Economy and Business (Part 1.5 from the GCSE Business specification)
- Section 4: Technology and Business (Part 1.5 from the GCSE Business specification)
In Year 10 and 11, students can take either GCSE Business or GCSE Economics:
- GCSE Business (Edexcel):
- Theme 1: Investigating small business (50%)
- Theme 2: Building a business (50%)
- GCSE Economics (OCR):
- Component 1: Introduction to Economics (50%)
- Component 2: National and International Economics (50%)
Key Stage 5
In Year 12 and 13, students can take one of the following: GCE Economics or GCE Business.
- GCE Economics (AQA):
- Component 1: Individuals, firms, markets and market failure (50%)
- Component 2: The national and international economy (50%)
