About Us

Welcome to Vyners School, a mixed 11-18 Academy.

Our aim is simple. We want to be the best school in the country so that our students get a better deal here than they would in any other school.

Vyners is an extremely popular and successful  school with an excellent reputation for academic achievement and extra-curricular activities. The school’s performance at GCSE and A-Level is consistently high.  In 2019, 87% of students gained a standard pass (grade 4) in both the English and Maths at GCSE level with 65% achieving a strong pass (grade 5) in these core subjects.  At A-level, 54% of all grades were at A*-B and our students continue to advance to the very best Universities and Apprenticeships in both the UK and United States.

We are delighted that our Ofsted inspection in May 2019 judged the school to be 'Outstanding'.  We consider this to be a worthy reflection of the consistent hard work and commitment shown by students and staff alike over a period of many years, as well as demonstrating the value placed on our school community by all its individual members.  A copy of the full report can be located via the 'Ofsted' tab on the left hand side.

School Values

Community

Aspiration

Respect

Endeavour

Our school values underpin everything we do and were developed in conjunction with students, staff, parents and governors in 2013.   At Vyners, we successfully combine a 21st Century education with traditional high expectations of uniform, behaviour and standards. We pride ourselves on the positive relationships that exist in the school and the sense of being part of a happy community. We are a genuinely comprehensive school, believing that all students bring their own talents to our community. We value our students equally and take great care to make sure that every one of them is happy, secure and successful.

We strive to develop ‘rounded and grounded’ young people, ready to make a positive contribution to the world. We firmly believe that the success of a school should be measured by where its students are five to ten years after they leave it. We have a strong tradition of our students attending some of the best universities and apprenticeships on offer and our alumni can be found in a wide range of exciting careers. Many of them remain committed to Vyners and return to support current students as they strive for excellence.

I strongly encourage you to visit us to see Vyners for yourself. We look forward to welcoming you to the school.
