Exam results 2014

Vyners School is delighted to report some outstanding results achieved by its students in 2014. We are particularly proud of our Year 11 students who have achieved the school's best ever grades at GCSE.

75% of students achieved at least 5 subjects A* - C grades (including English and Mathematics).   30% of Vyners’ students achieved 5 A*-A grades following the school’s focus on stretch and challenge, 29 students achieved at least 8 A*-A grades with Ellie Baker achieving an incredible 13 A* grades. Four students also achieved an A* with Distinction in Further Maths meaning that they are recognised as being amongst the best results in the country. English and Maths GCSE results improved once again this year despite the significant challenges they have faced with exam system changes and staffing.

At A level we had some outstanding results with one student, Pammy Gill, gaining all A* grades. She is off to Nottingham University to study Law whilst other top performers are off to UCL, Exeter, Southampton and Warwick. The majority of students were accepted by their first choice universities including to some of the best universities in the country. Some of our top performing students have also accepted prestigious apprenticeships at Rolls Royce, BBC, TalkSport and the petroleum engineering firm, KBR.

Year 12 maintained the significant improvements from 2013’s cohort and I am delighted that the percentage of A grades has risen by 2% in 2014 with five students achieving all A grades.

Thank you to parents for their continued support and our outstanding staff that have worked so tirelessly to ensure our Yr11, 12 and 13 students reach their potential.
