The governors are looking to appoint an inspiring leader to lead this core department. They are looking for a visionary school leader with experience across the 11 to 18 age range, with demonstrable impact on outcomes for students. You should be committed to developing young people into analytical, creative and resilient learners. You should be an outstanding teacher of Mathematics (to A level is preferred). The successful applicant will be given frequent opportunities to work with the Leadership Team, contributing to whole school development.
The Maths Department at Vyners School is very strong with GCSE results consistently well above the national average; in 2019, 87% of students achieved Maths at GCSE and achieved 73% at Grades 9 – 5. In 2019 at A Level, 35% of students studying Maths achieved A* - A, with 55% achieving A* - B.
Vyners is a very popular and oversubscribed mixed eight form entry, 11-18 comprehensive school, situated in a pleasant residential area in North West London, bordering Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire. We have a track record of real success at all Key Stages. In 2019, 87% of students achieved grades 9-4 in both English and Maths at GCSE and we are consistently ranked in the top 10% of all schools nationally for progress measures and attainment. The school converted to academy status on 1 November 2011 and is part of the Vanguard Learning Trust which also includes one other secondary and three primary schools.
