GCSE, AS and A-Level Exam Results 2016

Vyners School is delighted to once again report record-breaking results for its students in the 2016 exam season.

At A-Level the school has achieved its best results in the school’s history. An incredible 58% of grades achieved were A*-B grades and 83% A*-C.  Once again, we have had particular success with the number of students achieving the very highest grades. 31% of A-Levels taken at Vyners were awarded A*-A grades, in contrast to the national picture where the proportion of students gaining the top grades has once again fallen. 10% of the students achieved all A*-A grades with Salah Kouhen achieving 3 A* grades in maths, further maths and physics and he is now off to Warwick University to read mathematics.

Many students have been accepted into their first place university choices and others have secured places at competitive apprenticeships, including Cisco. Vyners students have accepted offers at some of the best universities in the country to read subjects as varied as Medicine, Pharmacy, Medical Engineering, Fine Art, History and Industrial Design.

GCSE results were once again very impressive. Under the new performance measures 81% of students achieved an A*-C grade in both English and Mathematics. 88% of students gained an A*-C in Mathematics and 84% in English with almost all departments securing excellent results. Results at the highest grades have been consistently high again with 31% of all grades achieved at A*-A. Thirty-one students (17% of the cohort) achieved eight or more A*-A grades. Nikil Rai and Eve Lindsay achieved all A* grades with an incredible 12 A* and 11 A* grades respectively.

We are delighted that there were successes at every level with students making fantastic progress across the full range of GCSE and vocational subjects. We are proud of each and every student and their individual successes.

The vast majority of Year 11 students are continuing their education at Vyners in September where they will be joined by a large number of external candidates, from other schools. The rest of them have secured places at other Sixth Forms and colleges where we wish them every success.

At Vyners, we have successfully developed an extremely supportive, high performance culture where success isn’t just expected; it is inevitable. These results are testament to all the professional and dedicated staff who work at Vyners and the hard work of students, supported by their parents.  We wish our students every success in their future!
