GCSE and A-Level Exam Results 2017

Vyners School is delighted to once again report record-breaking results for its students in the 2017 exam season.

At A-Level the school has once again achieved strong results. An incredible 55% of grades achieved were A*-B grades and 80% A*-C.  Once again, we have had particular success with the number of students achieving the very highest grades. 30% of A-Levels taken at Vyners were awarded A*-A grades.  This has surpassed the national picture, where 26% of students achieved the highest grades.

Many students have been accepted into their first place university choices and others have secured places at competitive apprenticeships. Vyners students have accepted offers at some of the best universities in the country to read subjects as varied as Medicine, Pharmacy, Medical Engineering, Journalism, History and Fashion Promotion and Imaging.  We are delighted that two students are continuing their studies in the USA next year, at the University of California and Columbia University.

GCSE results were once again very impressive - an achievement of which the school is particularly proud given the new specifications and grading structure in Maths and English.   84% of students achieved a Grade 4 or better in both English and Mathematics. 89% of students gained a Grade 4 or better in Mathematics and an outstanding 91% in English.  Almost all departments once again secured excellent results. 83% of the GCSE cohort achieved 5 or more GCSE passes at Grade C / Grade 4 or better, including English and Mathematics.  This matches the previous best ever results achieved by the School in 2015.

We are delighted that there were successes at every level with students making fantastic progress across the full range of GCSE and vocational subjects. We are proud of each and every student and their individual successes.

The vast majority of Year 11 students have continued their education at Vyners where they have been joined by a large number of external candidates, from other schools. The rest of them have secured places at other Sixth Forms and colleges where we wish them every success.

At Vyners, we have successfully developed an extremely supportive, high performance culture where success isn’t just expected; it is inevitable. These results are testament to all the professional and dedicated staff who work at Vyners and the hard work of students, supported by their parents.  We wish our students every success in their future!
